True Colours Planet #58 | Signed and numbered one-off 2018

When an element like copper is found in nature it’s green. Oxidized metal surfaces create colours that provide information about a material. The pallete is a reaction with the base material. This project shows the results of a research on metals and their true colours.

Designer Lex Pott (1985) employs a raw and intuitive method. In his work, he returns to the origin of the materials he uses most: wood, stone and metal. He does not hide his designs
under indirect layers, but reduces them to their very essence. He graduated cum laude in 2009 at the Design Academy Eindhoven.

Post Modern features a growing collection of affordable postcard sized artworks created by well-known artists and designers. These collector’s items, mainly one-offs, have been made exclusively for Post Modern. Often artists and designers produce bigger, pricier works. With Post Modern we challenge them to tell their ‘story’ on a small scale. Herewith tiny, affordable, one-of-a-kind, handmade artworks by leading, contemporary makers are accessible for a broader audience.
